Who We Are

Adam and Vanessa Stone own and operate Adam Stone Furniture together. Both were educated at the Chippendale International School of Furniture, here in Scotland, and collaborate to design and build furniture perfect for you.

Born in Perthshire, Adam’s love of woodworking began as a boy at his grandfather’s knee. After his woodworking training, Adam spent four years as a furniture-making instructor before establishing Adam Stone Furniture. He creates bespoke hardwood pieces that balance traditional craftsmanship with contemporary design, while offering woodworking instruction to new generations. Adam maintains his connection with Chippendale School as a yearly guest instructor, teaching woodturning, cabinetmaking, fitted furniture installation, and steam bending.

Originally from America, Vanessa moved from Seattle to Scotland in 2017 to study furniture-making. Since then, she has taught woodworking courses for women and has been making bespoke furniture. She brings a decade and a half of marketing and design knowledge, a Master’s degree in International Business, a love for handmade wooden furniture, and a passion for imparting skills and confidence to women.
